Christmas Magic

It was brisk and snow flurries were beginning to form in Leavenworth, Washington. It is a quaint community nestled in the North Cascades fully themed with Bavarian style architecture. We were there for their light festival and on this particular day to meet Santa. The wait was a bit long so we wandered through town and stopped in front of this toy store window. Andy found this window and stared longingly at the toys on display. Even though you can't see his face, it is one of my all-time favorite photos of him. I come back to it year after year. It is a true, childhood moment. It is in no way manufactured. I captured this sweet moment I will cherish forever.

It is everything about childhood, Christmas and the excitement in the air. He carried with him his treasures in a Lightning McQueen metal lunch box, and a tube of bubbles in the other hand. When I see it I can almost hear the sound of his Hot Wheels cars clanking around inside the tin box.

Dream big, little man. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
