Exploring #PikePlaceMarket

The days are short now here in Washington. It's dark when I leave for work in the morning and dark when I get back. On the weekends though, even when it is raining I rest assured that it is snowing the the mountains. The beautiful, heavy Washington snow will make for great turns on the ski hill.

When we don't head for the mountains, though, the winter and shoulder months are a fantastic time to explore Pike Place Market. There are no cruise ships in the terminal, and you can navigate these historic spaces by sampling delicious morsels as you go. We'll get a Palmier at Le Panier, a peroshky, and a cup of coffee at one of the shops along the way. (No, we don't go to the first Starbucks, locals would never wait in that line and there is a faster one just up the street.) But we would buy gum and let the boys make an addition to the famous gum wall and watch the fishmongers throw salmon with the best of them.

A small family adventure makes the daylight hours a little brighter. I love the excitement Andy and Eli have when I deliver a palmier to their hands. How their feet dangle from the tall chairs. How they reach out to touch that disgusting gum wall.

If you like what you see here, reach out and we can chat about capturing photos of your family outing or your upcoming Seattle vacation. What do you love about this city? Where would you go?
