I've found it. What I've been looking for. It was here all along.

I've entered a period of my life of great expansion. It's the proverbial hockey stick of learning, making, problem solving, dreaming and exploring. Except this time it feels different. This time I'm using my measures of success. My unit of measurement. Building my own ladder. Too many times I have followed the path someone else put before me. I'm asking the question I should have been asking all along. "Who am I doing this for?" and "What am I meant to do with my life?"

You can call it an early mid-life crisis. That's fine. I've finally realized that people going through midlife crises and throwing caution to the wind have a little something figured out about life. Buy the red sports car if that's your unit of success. Find your joy. For me, it's something else and I've found it. For me it's an experience, perhaps the wonderful potential of an exquisite new lens. As for cars, I'll continue my journey in my 2005 Toyota Highlander with my three adorable, and cheeky children in tow. There will be plenty of graham cracker crumbs and stale french fries in the back seat from "Old McDonalds".

My idea factory has been turned on hyper drive - I walk around and don't see things for what they are, but what they could be. For you parents out there, it's like "The Special" in the Lego Movie when he becomes a mater builder. Suddenly I visualize everything in 3D. If you've seen that movie read into it what you will - ha!. I've been rewiring my brain to think differently, creatively and diving into the online resources I can sink my teeth into: #CreativeLive #filminglifeacademy #ecornell #edx. This is of course when and if I can ever get all three kids to sleep a the same time.

I am transitioning from consumption to contribution. There are great possibilities and I can't wait to tell you more soon. But for now I'm sharing more, writing more. Come back and visit me here to watch it unfold. To be clear, it is so much more than photos. But creativity becomes more plentiful when it is used, so I am activating mine.

I've found a great source of inspiration from @ChaseJarvis and #creativecalling. Chase, if you read this - I thank you. I've been planning to paint it since I listened to the description of the cover. Possibilities. Potential.

To borrow from one of my favorite films, When Harry Met Sally: When you find the thing you were meant to do with your life, "[...} you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." Thank you, Billy Crystal.
