Memory Lane: Christmas Tree Shopping

We picked a little tree for our little brick house from the Magnolia Garden Center. It was a 5 foot Noble Fir, Mommy's favorite. The boys were bundled up winter coats. Eli was nearly ready to walk. He as sucking his thumb, just as he still does to this day.

We pulled them to the Garden Center in their little red wagon. It's old wheels squeezed and clanked as it went over the cracks in the sidewalk. We picked the perfect little tree and the bundled it up in netting for us. Andy pulled it nearly all the way home on his own, carefully looking after his treasured tree behind him. It was just a little uphill, and he needed just a little help.

That day was so perfect in my mind. We'll go out this weekend to select the perfect tree. And carry it into our new house for the first time. The ceilings are tall, so it can accommodate a taller tree, and we'll once again pull out all the baby / kid-proofed ornaments made of felt and wait for Santa, who may or may not bring presents to two little boys that never want to go to bed.
