When the sun has gone down, and with the winter solstice upon us, what is a photographer to do? Look for the uncommon stories. Make photos that remind you of a place, a time, a wonderful meal, tremendous company. Is the sound from this place boisterous? Quietly intimate? Are the diners inside this restaurant erupting in laughter? Are they illuminated by candles or making life changing connections? Did the shared company make it the best meal of their life?
I love taking photos through glass, combining images and stories. I'm always left with more questions than answers, which is a beautiful way to unravel these simple holiday gatherings.
